Activities carried out so far
1. Training on Administrative Research &
Reforms for 23 district level officers in
Hoshiarpur district
2. Training in general management and behavioral skills to 132 newly promoted Principals (2 Programmes) in two districts i.e. Hoshiarpur and Gurdaspur
3. Training in soft skills and Accounts to School Heads to 212 School Head Masters (4 Programmes) in two districts i.e. Hoshiarpur and Gurdaspur
4. Training Programme on Integrated District Plan for 72 district level officers in Hoshiarpur district
5. Training in Accounts and Fianance to government and School Staff to 760 persons in 21 batches in Hoshiarpur district
6. Taining on RTI Act to 971 persons by organizing Seven training programmes in Hoshiarpur district
7. Other Programmes: 35 other training programmes were organized and attended by 2128 persons on various subjects of topical importance in the district
8. Training on Revenue Matters to the Police Officers of Hoshiarpur District: Training to 70 Officers through three-days training programmes
9. Documentation: Four Administrative Research Papers prepared for reforms in government departments
10.Applied Research Programmes: Apart from training, administrative research, case-studies, resource persons training and other capacity building programmes are being undertaken
11.Identification of individual trainers/ guest faculty/ experts in the specific domains
a) Forty six Subject Experts/ Resource Persons have been identified in various fields and directory has been prepared
b) Prepared directory of NGOs and Youth Clubs working in the district
c) A working Committee of NGOS is being constituted

Recent Activities
Workshop on soft skills and ethics in governance
On 11 November 2011, District Centre Hoshiarpur
organized a one-day workshop on soft skills such as
motivation, stress management and time management”.
Shri Surjit Singh, PCS (Retd.), District Programme
Coordinator welcomed the officials from different
departments and threw light on the purpose of the
workshop and appealed to adopt soft skills and work with
full transparency, integrity and efficiency. He termed the
workshop as one important measure of administrative
reforms.
In the first and second session, Shri Jaswant Singh Saini resource person, spoke on motivation and ethics and values in good governance; Mrs. Sangita Shonik, resource person, spoke about 'Stress Management and Time Management'.

Seminar on Right to Service Act 2011
On 18 November 2011, a seminar on above subject was
organized at Sawami Sarvanand Giri Hall at Punjab
University Regional Centre Hoshiarpur. Shri S C Aggarwal,
IAS, Chief Secretary Punjab inaugurated the seminar. Shri
Deepinder Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur
shed light on the purpose of organizing the seminar. He
said that the implementation of this act has ushered in a
revolution in administrative reforms and that the people
have responded positively to this act. Shri Banke Bihari,
Resource Person spoke about the provisions of Right to
Service Act 2011.
The Chief Secretary intervened and said that the government has covered 67 services for the people to get their work done in the prescribed time and the act will help in solving many problems of the people. He added that to implement the act effectively levels of the government is trying to meet the lack of staff and commission has been set up to keep an eye on the implementation. The Chief Secretary gave answers to questions put by elected representatives who were given ample opportunity to express their views about this act in detail. The district Hoshiarpur project coordinator of MGSIPAP, Shri Surjit Singh, PCS (Retd.) thanked Shri S C Aggarwal, Chief Secretary Punjab, for his contribution for successful initiation and completion of the seminar and said that Right to Service Act 2011 would revolutionize the settling of problems in administrative area.
