Objectives
1. To provide subject specific training to the
officers/employees of the state
government, public representatives i.e.
Municipal Councilors, Sarpanchs/
Panchs, NGOs and youth.
2. To undertake research activities to bring about qualitative improvement in per formance and enhance the effectiveness of government employees and elected representatives.
3. To set up Youth Development and Disaster Management Cells.
4. To make employees in government departments aware about new policies and programmes of the state and central governments.
5. To create interest amongst government employees for public and social welfare works.

1. Capacity building of 6223 Panchs and
Sarpanchs of panchayats in Ferozepur
and Faridkot divisions through 107

2. Training in soft skills and accounts to 393 School Headmasters through 10 Programmes of two days each
3. Training on RTI Act 2005 : Provided training to 398 persons through 5 one-day seminars
4. One Refresher Course of Revenue Officers and Revenue Training to 152 Police officers/officials through 4 workshops at District Headquarters of Ferozepur and Faridkot Divisions
5. Capacity building of 1200 Youth/ Volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra through 10 Seminars
6. Capacity building of 161 elected members of Municipal Councils, Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samities through 4 Seminars
7. Other programmes: Organized 10 other training programmes attended by 753 per sons on subject s of topical importance to the region
8. Organized training programmes for Gram Sabha members at the village level in Ferozepur and Faridkot Divisions
9. Identification of individual trainers/guest faculty/experts in the specific domains.

Recent Activities
Functioning of Revenue Department: Training for police officers and officials
The Regional Centre of the Institute at Ferozepur organized
a one-day training programme for police to give them
information about functioning of Revenue Department on
28th December 2011. Shri Charandev Singh Mann,
Additional Deputy Commissioner Fazilka detailed the
participants about Revenue Act, transfer and registration of
property, official record of land holdings, red line, land in
limits of cities, transfer of land, etc. He said that the police
officials when dealing with cases regarding revenue
department should take action only according to
investigation based on facts. Shri Balbir Singh, SP(H)
Fazilka, inaugurated the training programme and stressed
that police officials must be conversant with rules and
regulations of the revenue department. He urged the
participants to participate in such seminars and programmes
to get maximum possible knowledge which in they will
improve their performance. Shri Atma Singh Tehsildar,
Fazilka gave detailed information about transfers, official
records, demarcation, division, etc. of land and property to
the participants. Giving information of hereditary properties,
he told that all the legal heirs have equal right to property.
Resource Person, Shri Niranjan Singh, former District
Revenue Officer, guided the participants on the use of
articles 145, 146, 107 and 151 and advised them to be more
cautious when the case is sub-judice.
Seminar on Road Safety
A seminar road safety was held on 17th December, 2011 at
Ferozepur by Helping Hands Foundation and Indian Red
Cross Society at the initiative of the Institute’s Regional
Centre to increase the capacity of social service societies.
Shri Dr. S Karuna Raju, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur,
inaugurated the seminar and said that imparting information
about road safety to social service societies is welcome
initiative. Practical training of first aid to social workers in
case of road accidents will prove helpful for them to come for
urgently needed assistance to accident victims.
Dr. Avtar Singh, Director Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar while addressing the participants said that the separated limbs of accident victims can be rejoined if medical help is available in time. At the occasion, Dr. Pankaj Sony gave valuable information about and also demonstrated first aid method Shri J P Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Cantonment Board Ferozepur, Shri Harish Monga and Shri Abhishek Arora also shared their views. Shri Gian Singh, Regional Project Coordinator spoke about efforts underway to increase the capacity of the social service organizations.
