Recent Activities
Out Bound Learning Programme(January-February 2012)
MDC seeks to meet the management needs of the government employees.
Out Bound learning programme planned by the centre is one of its prime
initiatives to inculcate a sense of trust, responsibility, team spirit, self
confidence and other aspects of organizational behaviour among
employees at a location outside the classroom. OBL fosters quick
understanding of skills and competencies among the employees.
During the month of December, MDC carried out OBL programmes for
Group A & B employees of Punjab Government.
Activities/Games/Energizers
Pass the ball energizer
Description: Participants are divided into groups of 10 or 12. Each group is given a ball as they stand in a circle. The ball is passed around in a certain sequence while calling out the name of the person to whom the ball is being throw. The game continues till the group gains momentum and expertise.
Trust walk
Objective: Trust, Team building and attention switching Description: The participants are divided into the groups of fifteen. One or more of the five senses of each of the participants are constrained with blindfolds and ropes and the leader is asked to lead them to walk.
Helium Stick
Objective : Concentration, coordination and team building
Description : Participants are divided into different groups six in each group. Six of them would pick one stick and balance it by using only one finger. Participants have to move up and down and should maintain the balance. This is followed by the discussion and debriefing with all the participants.

Stress Management techniques for Officers of Punjab Government
In pursuance I of the Leadership Development Series, the Management
Development Centre conducted a programme
on stress management from 19-23 December
2011.
Thirty two officers from different departments of Punjab Government participated in the programme.The programme inputs were in the form of lessons, experience sharing, case analysis, audio – visual presentations, group/ bindividualaly exercises. Out Bound Learning Programme (OBL) by Management Development Cell at MGSIPAP(October 2011)
Introduction:
Management Development Cell (MDC) of MGSIPAP seeks to meet the ever growing training needs of the employees in
government institutions. An outbound training programme has been planned by the cell as one of its prime initiative to
inculcate a sense of trust and responsibility, team spirit and building self-confidence and various aspects of organization
behaviour among employees at an out bound location. OBL will foster quick understanding and imbibing of skills and
competencies among the employees.
Concept
1.It makes training sessions more interactive and interesting
2.With the use of natural resources, rather than the monotonous classroom sessions and electronic medium.
3.These types of training would help trainee’s to creatively participate in all exercises and games. And help to build their motivational skills, teamwork and personality.

Description : Participants will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will be given a sample booklet, two old newspapers, one scissor, one stapler and one scale.
Instructions : To make as many exactly similar booklets as possible within 15 minutes. They will be judged on quality and quantity. The best performing group will be declared winner. This will be followed by discussion and debriefing with all the participants.
