Workshop related to Revenue department for Police Officers
A workshop was organized by District Centre Ferozpur at Sadar Police Station in Muktsar Sahib on September 8, 2011 in which the information was given regarding rules of Revenue department to Gazetted/ Non Gazetted Officers of Police Department. In the inaugural speech, Senior Police Captain Shri Indermohan Singh said police has plenty of cases related to property due to the exhorbitant price rise. In such a situation, training related to Revenue is going to prove beneficial in investigations. District project coordinator Shri Gyan Singh explained the objective of the workshop and said after attending the workshop, police officers will be able to dispose of property related cases with precision. On the occasion, Sh. Tej Singh Tehsildar (Retd.), gave information related to mutation, cases related to section 145,146,482,107,151 of the Indian Penal Code, marriage registration, etc. Shri Sukhdev Singh Tehsildar (Retd.) shared views with the on the terminology used in Revenue department. A sharing session was organized at the end of the workshop in order to clarify the doubts of participants.
Seminar on RTI Act, 2005 Dharamkot
RTI Act is proving to be a revolutionary and effective weapon to bring about transparency and eliminate corruption in administrative functions said Dr. Joram Ved, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dharamkot while inaugurating the seminar on Right to Information Act, 2005, organized by Sub-Divisional Magistrate in collaboration with MGSIPAP in Ferozpur at office of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dharamkot on September 23, 2011. He said this right given to Public has improved the functioning of Administration. Addressing the participants, resource person Shri Tej Singh said that the PIO and APIO should reply to RTI within thirty days so that they don't have to appear in front of Informat ion commi s s ion. Of f icer s / of f icial s / representatives from NGOs from also participated in the seminar.

Nihal Singh Wala

A seminar on RTI Act was organized by Distirict Administration in collaboration with MGSIPAP Regional Center Ferozpur on September 23, 2011 at Nihal Singh Wala. The seminar was presided over by Dr. Joram Ved, , IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Addressing the participants, Shri Gursewak Singh Bhullar, Naib Tehsildar, Nihal Singh Wala said the main objective of this act is to bring about transparency in different departments and eliminate corruption. After implementation of RTI Act, responsibilities have been defined in offices, due to which there is significant improvement in administration. Resource person Shri Tej Singh, Advocate said that anyone can demand f information in Punjabi, Hindi and English by paying the requisite fees. He said once the application is received it is necessary to record that in information register and the information sought is to be given to the applicant within the stipulated time. An open discussion for answering queries and sharing views was held in the end.
