Conference Overview

The Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Punjab (MGSIPAP) is organizing a two day International Conference on "Building Effective e-Governance" on 21-22 November 2002 at Chandigarh, with The British Council as one of the partners, and supported by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology - Government of India. The conference coverage will include invited presentations, panel discussions, e-governance applications and technology showcase from number of countries.

 E-Government has become a vital part of many government programmes in India and other countries. Governments are fast becoming e-governments. There is an urgent need to share and deliberate on the factors for building effective e-governance solutions. The conference will provide an opportunity to the leaders, bureaucrats, other government officials and technocrats to share their experiences with professional colleagues and take a pro-active step towards realizing government transformations at all levels.

Conference Coverage
The conference will focus on presentations that address the key segments for implementing e-governance including best practices and case studies. The main sessions for the conference are:
